D.W. Weaver
The story of Douglas William Weaver

Born in England, Douglas William Weaver was a 26 year-old plumber living in Sydney when he enlisted for the Australian Imperial Force in July 1915. Embarking from Australia at the end of 1915 as a member of the 13th battalion he travelled to the Middle East where he spent six months in training.
In June he left with his battalion for France but was killed in action soon after at Pozieres. He was buried in the field and is remember on the Villers-Bretonneux memorial.
