The story of Andrew Clive Clarke

Andrew Clive Clarke, a labourer by trade, enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force in June 1916, aged 26. He was assigned to the 19th battalion and left Australia in October bound for England. After spending about a month in training he left for France in late December of that year.
During 1917 he saw action at Bullecourt and Menin Road before being wounded in October and sent to hospital with a gun-shot wound to his left thigh. He was soon transferred back to England before ultimately being sent home and discharged in early 1918.
Andrew passed away in 1966 and is buried at the Aberdeen Lawn Cemetery.
